Detailed Directions
BY CAR
From The North (Brisbane)
1) Follow the Pacific Highway south, past Tweed Heads and the NSW/Queensland border.
2) Continue past the Byron Bay exit for approximately 2km to the Bangalow exit. Take this exit and continue on to the roundabout at the top of the hill in Bangalow (just over the bridge) and turn right towards Lismore.
3)Drive for approximately 14.6km to Clunes. Just after entering the village of Clunes, at the top of the hill, turn right towards Dunoon and The Channon. Continue to follow the signs towards Dunoon and The Channon.
4) Turn right onto The Channon Road at the sign for “The Channon” and continue driving until you reach the village. Carry on past The Channon Tavern and take the first left onto Koonorigan Road.
5) Continue over the bridge and at the fork in the road keep to the left. You will then move onto Pinchin Road which is a gravel road. The farm entry is the first driveway on the left at 1158 Pinchin Road. There is a sign labeled “Permaculture Research Institute” at the entrance to the driveway.
From The South (Sydney)
1) From Sydney and the South, take Pacific Highway north, continuing on past Ballina and Lennox head. Take the exit labeled Bangalow and follow the directions from point 2 in “from the north”.
From The East (Byron Bay)
1) From Byron Bay, drive west from to the Pacific Highway entrance and head south. Then follow the directions from point 2 in “from the north”
BY TRAIN
The nearest Train Station is located in casino; 42km away.
From the Train station you would then need to take a bus to Lismore and then onto The Channon.
There are limited services from Casino to:
Brisbane – 2.5hrs
Sydney – 12hrs
BY BUS
It is possible to reach Zaytuna Farm by bus during the week. Saturdays is limited to one service.
Firstly you will need to take a bus to Lismore:
From The North (Brisbane)
A couple of bus companies leave from Brisbane and make several stops on route:
Gold Coast (inc.airports)
Murwillumbah
Byron Bay
From The South (Sydney)
Some buses travelling to Brisbane and beyond from Sydney stop off at Lismore. Several major stops on route include:
Newcastle
Port Macquarie
Coff’s Harbour
Greyhound bus does not visit Lismore, but it does make a stop in Byron Bay.
From Surrounding Area
Two different bus companies connect nearby towns to Lismore:

NB: On the second Sunday of every month the “Nimbin & Channon Market” shuttle bus runs to the area from Byron Bay.
Once in Lismore you will then need to take the School Bus to The Channon. The bus departs from Lismore Transit Centre on Molesworth street. The bus has no number, but it will say SCHOOL BUS and will be mostly white with blue and green stripes towards the back.
If you tell the friendly bus driver you are going to the Permaculture Farm he will show you where to swap buses so you can get dropped off right outside the front of the farm. Otherwise it is a 20-30minute walk from the Tavern pub to Zaytuna Farm.
For the return trip back to Lismore, you will need to hail the bus which will stop near The Tavern pub.
NB During school holidays the bus will depart for Lismore from The Channon general store/post office.

Saturday Service
There is one Saturday service departing from the Lismore Transit Center (Corner of Molesworth Street) to The Channon. It is a mail run, done in a car. Departing Lismore at 5.55 am. This service will take limited passengers if the driver is notified the night before:

The closest airport is located in Lismore and is serviced by ReX (Regional Express) Airlines. Other regional airports with reasonable access to Zaytuna Farm include Coolangatta and Ballina.
